Mindaugas Zimkus
Mindaugas Zimkus (tenor) graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2003. He also had an internship in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. He successfully made his debut performance in 2004 as Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville by Rossini. Mindaugas performed his role as Ferrando in the opera Thus Do They All by Mozart in the opera theatres in Stockholm and Wolfeg. Since the very beginning of his career he is constantly invited to perform in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, Klaipėda Musical Theatre and other theatres across the world. Most popular composers and artists are included in the list of performances where Mindaugas participated, for instance Bach, Hendel, Mozart, Beethoven, etc. Mindaugas also prepared chamber music programs such as vocal performances by Shubert (Die schöne Müllerin, Swan Song, The Poet’s Love), by Britten Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo. Mindaugas won many singers’ contests, such as chamber music contest, Grand Prix, Vilnius international chamber music festival and Kaliningrad international chamber music contest. His role in The Barber of the Seville was rewarded with the Golden Stage Cross awardin 2008 and a few years later performance in The Gypsy Baron was nominated as the best performance in operetta genre.Mindaugas works as a singer in the Kaunas State Musical Theatre since 2006.
