Kęstutis Alčauskis
Kęstutis Alčauskis (tenor) studied music in Šimkus Conservatory. He was an intern in New York in The Mannes College of Music in 1994. Five years later he finished solo singing in Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and received a Master’s degree. He also participated in the summer international opera seminar The Magic Flute in Nida. He made a successful debut performance as Joseph in Viennese Blood by Johann Strauss in Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and in Kaunas Musical Theatre when he played a role in My Fair Lady by Loewe.
Kęstutis works as a solo singer in Kaunas State Musical Theatre since 2005 and sings in Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre and in Kaunas and Klaipėda Musical Theatres. Moreover, he had many tours with Lithuanian Chamber Music Orchestra, Lithuanian National and National Symphonic Orchestras. Roles such as Tamino (The Magic Flute by Mozart), Lensky (Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Tobias (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of the Fleet Street by Sondheim) and Schmidt (Werther by Massenet) were successfully performed by Kęstutis. Tenor performances in St Matthew’s Passion, The St John Passion and Christmas Oratorio by Bach, in Elias by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Requiem by Mozart were performed by Kęstutis as well. Kęstutis had been performing Prince Ramiro role in Cinderella by Rossini in Opera Theatre in Tallinn for 3 seasons in a row. He also collaborated with different conductors such as Muenster, Beck, Domarkas and Rinkevičius. They inspired him to develop his career and Kęstutis had successful tours in Lithuania, USA, Holland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, and Romania. His participation was significant in Summer Opera Festival in Solothurn (Switzerland) in 2005 when he fulfilled his role as Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni by Mozart. Kęstutis was awarded with Fortūna diploma twice in 2002 and in 2004 and with Golden Stage Cross award in 2008 for his tenor performance The St John Passion by Bach.
