Conductor JONAS JANULEVIČIUS studied in the J.Naujalis gymnasium from 1982 until 1993 finishing piano studies. In 1991 he won the second place in the national S.Vainiūnas pianist competition. In 1993 he entered the Lithuanian Music Academy, the piano class led by R.Bekionis. He held concerts in Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, took part in various international music competitions and became a laureate of some of them. Janulevičius participated in master-classes led by professors L.Natocheny, D.Bashkirov, H.Schicker, M.Rubackytė (in Vilnius), V.Margulis (in Germany), P.Lasman (in Druskininkai, Lithuania), and L.Berman (in Slovakia). Jonas Janulevičius graduated from the Academy with a Master’s degree in piano.

In 1998 – 2003 Janulevičius studied and finished the class of symphonic and opera conducting led by professor J.Aleksa at the Lithuanian Music Academy. In 1999 he gathered together a group of music students and performed a suite by I.Stravinsky “The Story of a Soldier” at the Lithuanian National Philharmony. In 2000-2001 J.Janulevičius participated in ERASMUS conducting courses. In 2001-2002 he studied in Paris National Conservatory with the professor Janos Furst.
His career as a conductor began in 1998 by conducting concert programs with: a brass band “Trimitas”, chamber orchestra of Šiauliai, as well as the Lithuanian state and the Lithuanian national symphonic orchestras. Together with Kaunas chamber orchestra the conductor Jonas performed “Verklarte Nacht” (“Transfigured Night”) by A. Schönberg, also “Metamorphosis” by R.Strauss. He had tours in Zagreb.
This conductor is annually invited to conduct in the international music festival “Operetta at Kaunas Castle”. In 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 J.Janulevičius toured in various Russian cities, where he held concerts with the youth symphonic orchestra of the Russian Federation.
Nowadays he prepares a number of music programs with the chamber orchestra of Šiauliai. He is this orchestra’s conductor since 2006, and now he is this orchestra’s artistic director.

Janulevičius is also involved in the educational work. From 2002 until 2010 he was the head of the chamber orchestra at the Kaunas faculty of the Lithuanian Music Academy. Together with this orchestra he participated in the international young orchestra’s competition in Spain. In 2003 he founded a symphonic orchestra at the J.Naujalis music gymnasium and a Kaunas academic youth symphonic orchestra.
Since 2006 Jonas is a conductor at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. Here he conducted the opera “The Love Elixir” by G.Donizetti, musical by F.Loewe “My Fair Lady”, he played fortepiano live in the dance performance “George and Frederick” (2006), he conducts festive concerts at the theatre.
Since the beginning of the artistic season of 2015/2016 Jonas Janulevičius has been assigned as the new Chief Conductor of the Kaunas State Musical Theatre and has replaced his colleague Julius Geniušas who has held this position for over 25 years.

2011, musical by E.John and T.Rice “Aida”;
2012, musical revue “Siegfried Werner Cabaret”;
2014, musical by F.Wildhorn “The Count of Monte Cristo”,
2014, operetta by P.Abraham “Ball im Savoy”.
