Ieva Vaznelytė

Ieva Vaznelytė (soprano) was born in Kaunas. She studied in Vydūnas High School and later in the Kaunas Music School No. 1. Ieva entered the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 1995 and began her solo singing studies in the class led by Martinaitytė. Five years later she graduated and received a Master’s degree. She actively participated in various competitions and concerts during her studies. She performed many roles in the Kaunas State Musical Theatre, took part in singing courses in Canada and the Czech Republic. She also sang with Panevėžys Chamber Music Orchestra in not only in Lithuania but abroad also (Sweden). Ieva won the 1st prize in the first young singers’ competition – festival in 2003.

Ieva works as a singer at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre since 2003 and here she has successfully created more than twenty various performances in operas, musicals and operettas.

She received the Fortūna diploma in 2005 for the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret by Kander, Ebb and Masteroff and 7 years later she was a laureate of the Fortūna prize for her role as Aida in Aida by Elton John and Tim Rice.
